Instructor Cindy Agan
South Bend, Indiana

Cindy Agan, an internationally published watercolor and portrait artist, will be conducting a four day watercolor workshop at the Hansen Museum. Cindy is the author of the North Light art instruction book titled "Painting Watercolors that Sparkle with Life." She filmed an art instruction video in England and both have been published worldwide.

Her award winning paintings have been displayed at numerous juried shows, international and gallery exhibitions, one woman shows and can be found in private and corporate collections. In addition to selling her original watercolor paintings, greeting cards and thirty-nine self-published limited edition prints, Cindy accepts portrait and house commissions, and travels doing art festivals and teaching workshops.

Cindy was a recent guest on the acclaimed TV show "Artist to Artist" in Chicago, Il. The award winning show was hosted by Enid Silverman, who conducted a half-hour interview.

Born in 1957, and raised in the Midwest, Cindy knew from a very young age that she wanted to become an artist, in fact, after that first box of crayons and coloring book, nothing felt more natural! This love of art was nurtured and encouraged by her family. In 1980, after years of tireless practice, she began her career painting professional portraits in pastel and pencil. Cindy is self-taught, having taken only one beginning watercolor class in the fall of 1993. The English style gardens surrounding her home inspire her floral painting and her passion for cats, antiques, gardening and children are evident. A deep appreciation of architecture is also relfected in her paintings.

Cindy paints daily in her home studio in South Bend, Indiana, where she resides with her husband Rich. They have sons, Eric, Bob and the late Brad.
