![]() Jo Campbell-Amsler gathering willow. |
Jo Campbell-Amsler has been using willow in her basketry work for the past twenty-six years and specializes in using rib-style techniques. She works from her studio, Willow Ridge in Monticello, IA, teaching her style of basketry and selling her pieces throughout the United States at basket guild conferences and at several notable art schools including Arrowmont School of Arts and Craft (TN), John C. Campbell Folk School (NC) and Sievers School of Fiber Arts (WI). While most of her baskets are functional, she is nontraditional in her approach to using found objects from nature in her work and likes to push the willow to form some sculptural aspects, often creating "one-of-a-kind" baskets. |
